What are textbooks without helpful, and sometimes funny, illustrations? Well they’re still textbooks but the answer you’re looking for is boring. The purpose of the illustrations is to make the book more interesting and useful. Some times describing an object or a situation isn’t enough, you have to show the students what it looks like. When illustrating textbooks and the like, opt for a realistic and/or humorous style that will give an accurate depiction and keep students interested.
