Jamēl is a contemporary Artist specialising in surreal fine art, illustration and street art. Each piece takes influence from an eclectic mix of muses, graffiti, skateboard graphics, music, cultural perceptions, social and environmental justice.A variety of mediums and techniques are used in each piece, with the use of spray and acrylic paints, often also using recycled wood cuts salvaged from the city. Born in the ancient city of Babylon in the Middle East, Jamēl is now based in Bristol, UK. Jamēl’s art attempts to bring his cultural juxtaposition to the forefront of the viewer's attention, to disorient you into a subversive dream-like dimension.A well established artist - previously under a pseudonym before transitioning to work under his family name - Jamēl has exhibited in galleries around the world, from London to New York, and created unique artwork and murals for an eclectic mix of clients. Some of his clients have included BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall, TATE Britain, Teenage Cancer Trust, Rip Curl, Posca, BBC DIY Sos, Collective Arts Brewing, Red Bull & Grolsh.
